Without a word she left, just packed up her apartment, no forwarding address, nothing. Until now, seven years later, sitting outside his house in a car. Vincent Hansen can barely contain himself he is that furious. He went nuts right after she disappeared, not knowing what had happened, he wanted some answers......now.

Jordan Alvarado knew she would break his heart when she left, but she had no choice. The alternative would have been much worse in the end. He had just taken an honourable discharge from the navy Seals due to his injuries at that time, working for a security company and he had been so happy to be back with his family. The best she can hope for now, after all these years, is closure to start healing the hole in her chest.

Neither Vincent nor Jordan would ever have thought that their physical proximity would immediately flare up the sparks between them. But before things get out of hand, the air needs to be cleared, something that proves to be difficult for both of them. Over the years, Vincent has made efforts to move on without any success, but Jordan has never even tried.

When Jordan appears to be the target of a series of dangerous attacks, Vincent's protective instincts take over and up he calls in some help from his friends. He is not going to let anything happen to Jordan, nor is he letting her out of his sight. Not this time. She is his, and she had better get used to it.

****

Fast-paced, high energy, high octane story!

Although this is the seventh book in the Red Sone Security Series, each book is a stand-alone story.

Despite the fact that there wasn't a lot of room for character development, Ms. Reus did great work giving us as much context as possible in relatively few words. Enough to actually be able to establish a connection with each of the main characters.

I loved the connection between them......ultimately. Initially I thought the guilt Jordan would be carrying must be suffocating her, I know it would me. In fact I don't think I could have been as selfless in her shoes at that age. As for Vincent, I don't think anything other than a threat to Jordan's life would have been able to completely eradicate her abandonment of him, despite her intentions at the time.

The book felt like a full story, in spite of its length. That's due, I believe to the great flow and balance of the story. Suspense, action and romance, all well dosed throughout, made it an easy page-turner.

✨A great quick and steamy adrenaline read!!✨
