"Hockey star Alexander Crossman has a reputation as a cold-hearted player on and off the rink. Pushed into the sport by an alcoholic father, Alex isn’t afraid to give fans the proverbial middle finger, relishing his role as the MVP they love to hate. Management, however, isn’t so amused. Now Alex has a choice: fix his public image through community service or ride the bench. But Alex refuses to be molded into the Carolina Cold Fury poster boy . . . not even by a tempting redhead with killer curves.

As a social worker, Sutton Price is accustomed to difficult people—like Alex, who’s been assigned to help her create a drug-abuse awareness program for at-risk youth as part of the team’s effort to clean up his image. What she doesn’t expect is the arrogant smirk from his perfect lips to stir her most heated fantasies. But Sutton isn’t one to cross professional boundaries—and besides, Alex doesn’t do relationships . . . or does he? The more she sees behind Alex’s bad-boy façade, the more Sutton craves the man she uncovers."

*****

Alex is one hell of a hockey player who takes charge on the ice. Hockey has become nothing more than a job to Alex, he has lost his love for the game and it shows both on and off the ice. The management of the Cold Fury put their foot down and force Alex to portray a better attitude. Not happy with is options but up again the wall Alex finds himself working with Sutton Price.

Sutton Price has put her all her focus into helping people both young and old who are dealing with addiction issues. The last thing she expected when given the assignment to create a drug-abuse awareness program for at-risk youth was the feelings that are brought to light by Mr. Alex Crossman. Thankful for her experience with difficult people, Sutton pushes back when Alex tries to shove around his cold demeanor. Soon she finds herself trying to understand and help Alex remove the dark cloud that he carries around with him.

Fighting herself with the need to keep things professional and not cross that line to personal is more than Sutton bargained for. Can Alex convince her that they can do both? Will she be able to break down his walls and find the real Alex behind them? Be prepared for the explosion.

This book is centered on a hockey player and team involvement but it is so much more. There is a tonne of emotion around dealing with addiction and the effects on everyone involved not just the addicted and learning how to turn the events of our past into a focused future. I am looking forward to reading more of the Carolina Cold Fury team.
