Blog Tour and Review - TAMING LILY by Monica Murphy

We're celebrating the release of TAMING LILY by Monica Murphy!

TAMING LILY (The Fowler Sisters #3) by Monica Murphy
Adult Contemporary Romance

I’m in trouble. Again. And instead of facing my problems head-on, I’ve run away. Far away this time, and no one can catch me—not my two younger sisters, Violet and Rose, not my father, my grandmother, or that witch Pilar who wants to take control of my family’s cosmetics company. Now I’m in Hawaii, enjoying the sun and sand and water, where nobody knows the hot mess known as Lily Fowler. And I’m loving every minute of it.

But someone is watching me. Following me. He’s gorgeous. Soon we’re talking, and against all my instincts, I reveal bits and pieces of myself to Max. It feels good, though I know he can’t be the man for me. These sudden feelings we share are way too complicated, too fraught, too intense.

Then everything explodes and I’m forced to return home. My intentions have always been true, but now everyone’s mad at me. I don’t know who to turn to anymore . . . except to Max. He’s the one I want to trust. But I’m not so sure I should. Maybe it’s worth the risk—what-ifs be damned. . . .

4.5 of 5 Stars
Throughout the series we have gotten little glimpses of Lily but we never really got to know her well. While reading her story I come to decide that the Lily we all got to see was simply the person she wanted everyone to see. The wild child, bad girl is a cover for a lonely woman who has taken on too much burden and fault over the years. It is hard for a 6 yr old girl to understand some things and put them in the right perspective.

With her family in mind Lily decides to go on a little bit of a hunt. When she finds what she is looking for and confronts one with her knowledge she is sent off running scared. Deciding to lay low in Maui while she figures out what to do. When she notices him following and watching her she wonders if he is part of the paparazzi at first. When they finally start talking and she gets to spend a little time with him she decides she might like Max. It might be fun to spend her secret getaway time with someone.

Lily is his target. She has something he needs. He has a nasty client who is hounding him to get this job done. As he watches Lily he finds himself interested in the true Lily and not the wild child she is made out to be. He feels drawn to her and finds himself having trouble not crossing the lines with her. The more time he spends with her the harder he is finding it to take from her.

When Max finally gets the job done and discovers what Lily had found out about his client, he can't give the client what she wants. He comes to realize his feelings for a certain girl are more than he ever expected to happen. Now to get her to listen to him and let him help her. That will be the biggest struggle he has coming yet.

This was a great finish to a series about 3 strong sisters who find love in their own way. Stereotypes be damned. It is possible to find that one true love even when you aren't looking for him. I have to admit, I am not sure I am ready to be finished with the Fowler family yet though.
