Tour: Wind Chime Wedding by Sophie Moss

Second-grade teacher, Becca Haddaway, is weeks away from walking down the aisle when she learns that the Heron Island Elementary School is about to be shut down. In the midst of a whirlwind of wedding planning, she launches into a last-ditch effort to save it. But the one man who can help her is determined to make her question every decision she has ever made—including the man she’s about to marry.
Former Navy SEAL and son of the current Maryland governor, Colin Foley, is finally starting to feel whole again after losing his leg on a career-ending deployment in Afghanistan. After struggling for months to figure out what to do with his post-military life, he’s found a new mission—opening a rehab center for wounded veterans on the peaceful Chesapeake Bay island. All he needs now is a woman to share his new life with…and he knows exactly who he wants. With a little help from the island’s magical wind chimes, can Colin convince Becca to change her mind before it’s too late?

4 of 5 STARS

This lovely book is set on a small island where everyone knows the coming and goings of the town, but to many that is the special parts of the town. Becca is certainly one of those people. Living there her entire life with many memories to cherish. Mainly the memories she has of her deceased mother, former teacher. Becca even teaches in her moms old room now.

Becca is in the midst of planning her wedding to long time boyfriend. She doesn't seem to be in that dreamland about the upcoming wedding as most bride-to-be usually are though. She can't seem to put a finger on it. She is sad about leaving the island to start her new life. When things happen that will affect the island, Becca decided to do everything she can to keep things at a norm before she has to go. In do so, she finds herself spending a lot of time with the handsome Colin. This seems to not be helping with her wedding issues at all.

Colin, is a man on a mission. Together with his friend Will he is working towards a Veteran Assistance Center to help them get back on their feet after returning from duty. When he decides to try and help out the town that he has come to love and want to spend his life in, things get a little dicey. Old family issues are brought to the surface and make things a little ugly. Somehow though these things don't seem as bad as they should with Becca by his side. Although she really is just being friendly. Colin finds himself hoping for things that he can't have, or can he. Will he make a play for another mans woman?

I loved the feel of this book and can easily see where the series can move forward. The congregation of friends that build the main characters of the story is very strong and unique at the same time. I will watch for more of the Wind Chime Series.
