Review - GONE TOO DEEP by Katie Ruggle

In the remote Rocky Mountains, lives depend on the Search & Rescue brotherhood. But in a place this far off the map, trust is hard to come by and secrets can be murder...

George Holloway has spent his life alone, exploring the treacherous beauty of the Colorado Rockies. He's the best survival expert Search and Rescue has, which makes him the obvious choice to lead Ellie Price through deadly terrain to find her missing father. There's just one problem-Ellie's everything George isn't. She's a city girl, charming, gregarious, delicate, small. And when she looks up at him with those big, dark eyes, he swears he would tear the world apart to keep her safe.

With a killer on the loose, he may have no choice.

Ellie's determined to find her father no matter the cost. But as she and her gorgeous mountain of a guide fight their way through an unforgiving wilderness, they find themselves in the crosshairs of a dangerous man in search of revenge. And they are now his prey...

4 of 5 Stars

I have been enjoying the Search and Rescue series so far and this book has just a much mystery and suspense to keep you flipping the pages to see what happens next. Add in a slow burn of romance that packs with a punch when it comes to surface.

Ellie is the city girl who needs help. Her dad is in danger and she is desperate to find him. She is certain he has gone to her grandparents old cabin but she has no idea where exactly it is or how to get there. She is told that George is the best person to guide her out there but he is a little more than reluctant to take this city girl out in the wilderness in the middle of winter. Ellie steps up to the plate and shows us all that you can do anything you put your mind to with a little help.

George is one of the best of the search and rescue team but he is a little strange. He keeps his talking to a very bare minimum almost non existent. Even though he is reluctant to start he agrees to take Ellie to find her father. The more time spent with Ellie the more he begins to slowly open up, talk more, express more and maybe enjoy the scenery a little more. There is no question that he is attracted to her but nothing will ever come of it, or will it?

Jam packed with adventure that gives an true picture of what it would be like to hide for days in the middle of winter on the Colorado Mountains. Katie make you fell like you are snowshoeing along with them wondering what dangers they might find in the process. If adventure is what you seek then I highly recommend this series.
