This is my first step into the world of Aleatha Romig and I am so glad I jumped in with both feet. I have heard such wonderful things about her Alpha men, twisted romance full of suspense. What was I waiting for, kicking myself right now that is certain.
From the prologue we are hit with a brut force that has you wanting more, needing to try and understand the why, how's, of what is happening. As the intrigue and suspense grows, so do the characters and they pull you in with the chemistry emanating between them. Soon you are ignoring things and completely focused on reading, looking for answers.
Kennedy Hawkins has had her life ripped from beneath her at 16, she has moved on with a super best friend and business partner, a business that is her main to existence. When her business threatens to send her back to that place where everything crashed on her all those years ago, the warnings coming crashing back in her memories and cause great concern. Can she slip in and out of Chicago without being recognized as Araneae?
Sterling Sparrow is a man of power. He gets what he wants and removes any obstacles that get in his way. He puts new meaning to Alpha male and only trust a very select few in his circle. With Araneae the main focus between his cross hairs. She is his and he plans to protect her the only way he knows how, now to convince her to follow by his rules so he can keep her safe.
