Title: WORTH FIGHTING FOR
Author: Amanda Kelley
Genre: Contemporary Romance

Nothing in Kellen O’Connell’s life has come easy. He knows better than anyone that if you want something, you better fight for it.

When he finds himself drawn to a feisty kindergarten teacher, he realizes he’s going to have to fight harder than ever if he wants to know her secrets.

On the outside, Ali Crawford has it all. The perfect job. Great friends. A wonderful family. But she has demons, just like everyone else. There are things she’s never given a voice to, and they are relentlessly chipping away at her conscience.

Will she have the courage to trust the magnetic, if not annoyingly infuriating, Kellen with her past? Or will she let it ruin the best thing she’s ever known, as it turns her into someone she doesn’t even recognize?

If they can learn to trust each other, they might just find something worth fighting for.

*Intended for readers 18 years of age and up due to mature content.

During the drive home, Kellen seemed preoccupied, so Ali left him to his thoughts.

When Shelby had called while Kellen was off, talking to his brother, she’d sent it straight to voice mail and sent her a message that all was good. That had been their long-standing signal to abandon any rescue missions.

She hadn’t actually talked to Shelby yet today. She’d only texted her with the bare details from the car after they parked in front of the pizza place. Who, where, and what. Ali knew she would be expecting some explanation since, as far as Shelby knew, Kellen was just some cop who’d talked with the kids.

Unable to stand the quiet any longer, she looked to Kellen and asked softly in the confines of the truck cab, “Do you want to talk about it?”

“Hmm?” he asked.

“Whatever it is, maybe it would help if you talked it through.”

Awesome advice. Maybe you should try it.

Ali silenced her traitorous thoughts and angled her body toward Kellen. She could Dr. Phil herself later.

“My brother Finn got a phone call from someone we haven’t heard from in a while, who’s trying to start trouble,” he vaguely answered.

“What kind of trouble?”

Kellen paused. Ali could see his grip tighten on the steering wheel and thought that maybe she was pushing too hard.

“My life’s not pretty, Ali.” He glanced over at her with those pale eyes. “I don’t have a family like yours.”

What is that supposed to mean?

She cautiously urged him on. “What kind of family do you have?”

It took a moment for him to answer, but when he did, it sent a shiver up her spine. “The kind that would give you nightmares.”
