“Babe,” he growled.

A warning.

Definitely.

I’d gone too far.

I also didn’t care.

“Okay, so then does Tia have to sleep with one, or, say, all of your boys?”

“Don’t do that shit. You know that’s not what I’m talkin’ about.”

“So maybe you’ll explain what you’re talking about.”

“I would, you shut your trap.”

I shut my trap and stared at his shadowed head.

He stared at mine.

Then he muttered, “Christ, need my head examined.”

“You could get off me,” I reminded him.

“Is this shuttin’ your trap?”

I shut my trap again.

“You take of care my house and my business as well as me.”

“What does that mean?”

“That means you move outta the apartment before they kick your ass out. You move into my house. You keep it clean. You keep me fed, that is, when I’m not feedin’ you, and I like to cook, so mostly, I’ll be feedin’ you. You come to work with me and take care of the office, and you go home with me.”

Wow.

Was he serious?

That sounded like…it sounded like…

My God, it didn’t sound like a sex-for-safety arrangement.

It sounded like a relationship.

This is the first book in the Wild West MC Series for KA and it was full of meeting new characters and building the scene that will become home to the series. Our main characters are West "Buck" Hardy the Pres and Clara a woman who has hit rock bottom. I found this book to have a feel similar to her older books, which are relaxed and chill in my perspective. This book will not be for all as their are some strong trigger points that some might have issues with, but keep in mind this is fiction.

Clara has completely hit rock bottom with the deception and aftermath of her ex-husbands stealing. She has nothing left but her best friend and her sudo grandmother. Doing what she can to look out for her family she finds herself in some questionable situations. With no where to turn she finds herself in a new situation she wasn't expecting. She is green and has lots to learn in the MC world but she is drawn to Buck and is willing to do what she can to give it her best shot.

Buck has worked hard to provide for his family, to bring the MC club that he grew up in to a new more respected level. He loves his family and club hard. He knows what he wants and he intends to get it. We do see a softer side of Buck as he deals with his children and Clara behind doors. He has a reputation to up keep though. Sure he is rough and tumble but he is the Pres of a an MC, he kinda has to be.

This was a good KA story for sure, but I gotta say there was something that held me back from loving it like I expected. There were times when I wasn't sure who I wanted to slap harder for their actions Buck or Clara, but I was interacting with the story. I think it is a great start to a new series with many characters I can't wait to see get their turn. I will be checking out the next Wild West MC book that is for sure.
