Release Blitz - CALCULATED RISK by Marie James

Release Date: May 11

As the fixer for Blackbridge Security, Quinten Lake is the man that comes in and cleans up after people make stupid decisions.

Which means he didn’t want to be the one teaching lustful women gun safety.

There were guys on the team better suited for the task.

Get in and get out, that’s his motto, something he lives by not only at work but also in his personal life.

And he could be doing just that if it weren’t for the internet.

But if #BlackbridgeSpecial wasn’t trending online he would’ve never met Hayden Prescott.

He wouldn’t be wondering why she won’t make eye contact with him.

He’s supposed to teach her the skills to protect herself, but his ego is encouraging him to be her means of protection.

She isn’t impressed, and he’s left wondering if she’ll ever open her eyes and finally see him.

4 Stars

This is the fifth installment of the Blackbridge Security Series and every bit as good as all the others. This book can easily be read as a standalone book as anything important is brought forward. I do suspect you will be intrigued to go back and read the others though. We have an opposites attract, protector story with a good mix of witty banter to smooth out the danger and seriousness.

Quinton Lake is the fixer of the team, so he isn't certain why he has been chosen to teach the gun handling course to a group of women. He tries everything he can to pass the book onto someone else. He is quick to pull Jude in when he gets added to the mix. Struggling with the attention and trying hard to make sure these ladies get the knowledge needed. But there is one woman that he keeps finding himself drawn to.

Hayden was signed up for this course by her friend after her house was invaded to help her feel more confident. She is constantly being pulled out of her shell by Parker who only wants what is best for her. Her life is simple between her  accounting job and spending time with her friend, she doesn't get out too much. She is the first to admit that she doesn't really feel comfortable in her own home anymore.

Hayden is super cautious when Quinton tries to show her some attention. She isn't sure what to think. But as things start to get weird at work she is glad to have his attention. When Quinton realizes that there might be a real threat to Hayden he goes into full protector mode. Will this bring them closer together or will she continue to push him away?

I am completely enjoying this series so far. The stories always pull me in on an adventure.

Let's see...where to begin...

I'm inching up on the BIG 4-0. The gray hairs are doubling what seems like daily, and the wrinkles and laugh lines are more pronounced than ever.

I have an amazing husband (Married just over 15 years.)

We have two boys we're doing our best to raise as respectful gentleman.

I have a master's degree in criminal justice which I used to work as a juvenile probation office until deciding to write full-time in June of 2019. So that means there's usually always some criminal/law element to my novels.

If I'm not writing; I'm reading.

My favorite genres recently are bully/reverse harem and enemies to lovers. Maybe I'm reliving my traumatic teen years through the girls who actually end up with the boys. (Not that I would change my history since it's gotten me exactly where I need to be!)

I love coffee. I miss carbs. Music is LIFE. I try not to be too serious.
