Aren't they?

Harlow
I promised him I would be there for the best day of his life.

Not thinking I wouldn’t be the one standing next to him.

But here I was attending the love of my life’s wedding day.

I smiled when I saw him and pushed back the tears that wanted to come out.

This was his day and I was going to fulfill my promise.

Travis
It was supposed to be the best day of my life.

But the second I got up, things started to fall apart.

The kitchen just caught on fire.

Flowers were from a funeral.

My bride-to-be just had an allergic reaction leaving by ambulance.

Oh and my ex-girlfriend just walked into the church.

They say you have to see the signs when they are right in front of you.

Maybe she was just mine to have.

4.5 Stars

This is book one of the Southern Wedding Series but there is a sequel, did you read it first? I didn't not but I didn't feel lost in the story. I am going back to read it though just to make sure I didn't  miss anything else. 😊

Harlow is floored when she finds as wedding invitation in her mail and it is from her ex who broke her four years ago as they were graduation college. Sure she managed to move forward and start up her vet practice as she always planned. The love of her family always right beside her but dating and moving forward, not so much. As much as she doesn't want to go to this wedding, she made a promise to be there for his best day of his life. So she pushes herself to go.

Travis is certain that he is doing the right thing and moving forward. But is he really? He works too much at his shared vet practice. His sisters and mom are their for him in every way they can be. When the wedding day arrives and one thing after another seems to go wrong he begins to feel a little defeated. Sparks fly inside when he sees her across the room.

This could be one of the best second chance stories I have read. The characters are fun and witty with sizzling sparks. Could it be possible that they have found what they lost? Communication was a huge part of the issues all those years ago, can they learn to talk to one another this time around?

I am excited for what the next book brings.

When her nose isn't buried in a book, or her fingers flying across a keyboard writing, she's in the kitchen creating gourmet meals. You can find her, in four inch heels no less, in the car chauffeuring kids, or possibly with her husband scheduling his business trips. It's a good thing her characters do what she says, because even her Labrador doesn't listen to her...
