Release Blitz & Review - FOR THE ENEMIES WE LOVE by Elle P. Golden

Do you know what’s even worse than hating an enemy? Hating the person you love.

For The Enemies We Love, an all-new enemies to lovers, forced proximity, small town, romantic suspense from bestselling author Elle P. Golden is now

ETHAN

I wasn’t supposed to fall in love with my enemy.

I had no reason to trust her. Yet she gave me all the reasons to love her.

I just couldn’t help being consumed by Mia Bryant’s fire.

All I had to do was investigate the cartel and arrest the woman who was taunting me. But Mia turned the tables at every turn.

When I handcuffed her wrists, she tied me up. When I arrested her, she saved my life. When I pointed a gun at her, she held me hostage.

I should’ve realized there'd be no winning when loving an enemy, but I never imagined I’d be the one with the power to destroy the best thing that ever happened to me.

Because while I fell more in love with her, her hatred for me wasn’t what might ruin us.

It was my betrayal.

MIA

Do you know what’s even worse than hating an enemy? Hating the person you love.

That was Ethan Cross for me.

The man who healed me only to destroy me again.

He was a nuisance. A sexy, nerdy, tattooed, glass-wearing, boy-scout-like, genius nuisance who not only snatched my job but made me fall for him. And my decay was unparalleled.

He brought me peace only to reignite my demons. He restored my faith only to rip it apart.

He showed me the joy of love and being loved, only to later teach me the harsh lessons of secrets and deceit.

I should’ve known better. There was no love for a killer like me.

It would’ve hurt way less if he had just pulled the trigger when he threatened me at gunpoint, instead of shredding my heart with his betrayal.

If you allow me some advice: don’t fall in love with the person you hate.

It brings bad luck.

He placed his big hands on my face, pulled me closer, and slammed his lips on mine. Maybe I should’ve been more surprised. But as he devoured my lips, I felt like that was where we had been heading since the beginning. I moaned against my control and pushed my hands through his hair.

He bit my bottom lip, making me gasp, and took advantage of it by inserting his tongue inside my mouth. Palming my ass, he lifted me and pressed me against the nearest wall, as I circled my legs over his butt.

We broke the kiss and stared at each other. Neither of us seemed to understand what was happening. Neither one of us dared to stop.

“I guess I found a way to shut you up.” He took my lips again, and we both started to grind against each other.

I could feel his shaft against my core through our clothes, and it was intoxicating. He was intoxicating.

Ethan bit my bottom lip. Then left a trail of nibbles from my chin to my neck as I grabbed his hair and closed my legs and arms even tighter around him.

“Or maybe you just ran out of good arguments.”

His hands found the hem of my shirt, removed it, and then began to explore me. My back, my belly, and up to my breasts. He kissed down from my neck. “You weren’t supposed to taste so good. Why can’t I stop tasting you?”

I took in a deep breath and pulled his face to my chest. “We have enough reasons to hate each other. Let’s just enjoy this moment.”

Ethan looked up from my breasts and smiled. The devilish grin on his nerdy face could only make me wetter. Even his damn galaxy of freckles was driving me crazy. He stepped away from the wall, carried me to the sofa, kicking a couple of chairs out of the way, and dropped me gently on my back. After pulling his shirt off from the back of his neck, he kneeled between my legs.

The way he watched me unsettled me. For the first time in a long time—maybe ever—it felt like someone was truly seeing me. The worst part was that, as vulnerable as that left me, it was also empowering, and I didn’t know what to do with it.

We stared at each other for a few seconds. Still looking me in the eye, he unbuttoned my pants and pulled them down my legs, throwing them on the floor. His pants found the same destiny, right before he leaned over me.

With a tenderness I wasn’t expecting, he ran the tip of his fingers over my face and pushed my hair behind my ear. Not once looking away, he ran his hands down and touched the front clasp of my bra. “Is that okay?”

At a loss for words, I just nodded.

Ethan continued his perusal until he reached my underwear. “Is that okay?”

Once again, I just nodded. He pulled it down, and I thought it was time to even things out. I pulled him down from his neck to kiss him again as I inserted my fingers inside the hem of his boxers and took them off him. While our tongues battled, I palmed his cock and was startled.

“Is that…?” I looked down and ran my thumb over it to make sure my eyes weren’t tricking me. “You’re pierced? I guess people are right. It’s always the quiet ones.”

Who would’ve thought the geeky bird was a wild Phoenix?

This is the third book in the Bryants & Walker Protection Series and they just keep getting better and better. I strongly suggest starting at the beginning of the series to completely enjoy all the characters and their family dynamics to the fullest. Be prepared for a book that you can't put down, while you try hard to help then as they track the cartel and it main players. Don't worry there is plenty of emotion and steam throughout the book as well.

Mia is strong, sassy and take no prisoners kick ass as she does what she does best. Too bad the DEA didn't see that from the beginning or did they. Funny they keep pulling her and her company in for help. Ethan has been working undercover for so long that he is starting to resent the job just a little bit. He misses his family and a normal life, but he is determined to take the cartel down to their knees.

When Mia and Ethan meet is it sparks and flames but not in a good way. When they realize they are being forced to work together, those flames burn brighter. Thank goodness they are both professionals and the one thing they can agree on is the job.

Watching their relationship grow as they fight off the bad guys if pretty fantastic.

Be prepared for a tight knit plot with many twists and turns to keep you turning pages. A strong calming sense that comes with finding your one and soo much more.

I can't wait for the next book.
