Wow, Ms. Madison pulls out all the stops with this love/hate, small town book with emotions jumping off the pages and trying to pull you under with the main characters. Some you will want to hold, some you will want to smack silly, but in the end after all the sad, you will find a way to a smile.
Charlie and Autumn's story is not for the light hearted and it will bring your every emotion to the surface. The grief that is still eating these characters alive as they try to move forward from that horrific night is hard to watch. The affects it had on Autumn's family when she did nothing wrong is heartbreaking.
But as often happens there are pieces that are missing in the puzzle of that night and when the secrets and lies start to come to the surface, there is a shift in the town and with the main characters. Can they move past the hatred? Could they find strength in one another instead of pulling each other apart? Is there a love there to be found?
