Release Blitz & Review - AGAINST ALL ODDS by Corinne Micheals

AGAINST ALL ODDS
by Corinne Michaels

When my ex-husband leaves me for the co-star in his movie, moving back to Ember Falls feels like my only option.
Everett Finnegan, my first love and the man I’ve never forgotten, is ready to welcome me with open arms…and an open bed.

But when I find out I’m pregnant with my ex’s baby, my entire world is upended.

My ex doesn’t want the baby, but I plan to rebuild my life as a single mother and figure out how to handle all of this alone.

Except that I don’t seem to be alone―Everett always shows up for me.

I don’t expect him to get mixed up in all my drama―not when he has his own. And I wish he would listen to me when I say we have to stop whatever it is we’re doing.

But he wants me, the baby, and my heart.

So when I’m forced to return to California sooner than planned, I’m devastated.

Everett can’t leave Ember Falls, and I can’t stay.

Saying goodbye to him the first time was hard enough. This time, it just might break me.

5 Stars

We are back in Ember Falls with the gang and this time Everett gets his story. We have seen Everett lots through the series but this book opens some windows that we didn't really get a look at. An emotional book full of second chances, letting love in even when it's scary, unconditional love.

Everett is determined his life is what it is going to be. He loves his job as the town veterinarian. He knows that he will never be able to leave Ember Falls as this is where his mother needs to be. He has made so many changed to be able to look after her since his fathers death. He gets out to see his friends as much as possible and is there for them when needed. But love isn't in the cards.

Violet returns to Ember Falls to find herself and start over. Nothing worse than watching your life implode on television along with millions of other people. She needed to be close to the one person that loved her unconditionally, Grandma.  Getting a job and moving into Grandma's house that she inherited was the perfect solution. When she finds herself pregnant with her ex's baby, life gets a little more difficult.

Everett and Violet's first run in when she arrived back to town was interesting to say the least. She knew it was inevitable but she was worried. Though she left him without word all those years about, Everett is long past the hard feelings. It is almost like she never left and they jump right back into comfortable banter. Though there is always something more in the background for both of them.

Will they cross that line and see where things take them? Will they try to keep things as they are? Grab your copy and find out. Be prepared for some definite swooning.
