Series: Winning at Love; Book 2
Genre: RomCom / Contemporary Romance
Kami Sutherland is gorgeous and - if the rumours are true - a virgin.
That - and the fact she's my sister Eastlyn's best friend - should be enough to keep a guy like me from crossing any lines.
However, our glances, subtle touches, and feelings are evolving beyond just friendship and being running buddies.
Despite my sister's attempts to keep us apart, I only want Kami more.
I know I shouldn't crave her like I do, but she's too damn hard to resist.
Kami has an infectious smile, one I look for whenever she's near, one I want all to myself.
And as the years pass, it's all clicking into place: Kami wants me, too.
So, all bets are off.
4.5 Stars
We met both Kami and Keaton in Love One, book 1. I really liked both characters and could feel the chemistry between them during that book as a side story. So I was super excited to hear they were getting their own book.
Kami is a confident independent woman who owns her own home, has a great teaching job alongside her best friend. What more could a girl ask for? Maybe the man she has loved since forever to truly notice her, for starters. After all this time sitting on the sidelines and watching Keaton with other woman has finally come to a head. Eventually it starts to become hard on a girls confidence, maybe there is a reason he is drawn to them instead of her. It is time to shit or get off the pot. Tell him how she really feels or move on, find herself someone to love, who will love her back.
Keaton has worked hard to get his Tattoo shop up and running to where they are being noticed for their work and quality. Not an easy task in that line of work. It has been his main focus for a long time. Silently watching and loving his sisters best friend Kami from the sidelines. Convinced that he wasn't good enough for her. He wasn't the man she needed but unable to fully give her up at the same time. Stuck in this weird friendship with stolen glances, simple touches. It's enough to drive a man crazy or make him look like an idiot.
Can Kami and Keaton find their way out of the friend zone or will they end up lost to each other?
Keaton was not my favorite character throughout the book. His idiot ways had him on my bad side for much of the story but I could still see the bigger picture and knew that part of those idiot ways was because he didn't know how to jump the fence and truly let Kami know where is head was at. Thankfully he finally got his head out of his ass.
Another wonderful book my Gillian Jones, be sure to give it a chance.
