Title: Edge of Trust

Author: Freya Barker

Genre: Romantic Suspense

Release Date March 27, 2023

Hosted by: Buoni Amici Press, LLC.

Gunpowder and loyalty meets cocktails and ink. I am a laid-back wise guy. A veteran, a friend, a marksman, and a loner. My name is Honon. I may be hesitant to pull the trigger, but am not afraid to fire with the right target in my sights. I am a focused free spirit. A black sheep, a go-getter, a scrapper, and an artist. My name is Emme. I’m single-minded enough to reach my goals, but still moderately flexible when life throws a curveball. We make a reluctant couple—our hesitation evident—but when innocent lives are endangered, and hard-fought trust is challenged, we discover who we can count on. Each other.

5 Stars

A few words in and I feel like I am home at the compoud with all my old friends. That is how Ms Barker writes her series. I love that she gives us lots of the previous characters while giving her current Hero and Heroine the lime light. It's like a snuggle with a favorite blanket while drinking your favorite bevy.

Honon has been a permenant fixture in the series but a quite one, always seeming to be just off to the edge of the page. There when needed but not out front making all the racket. Coming to the club as a young boy in need, this is his home and always has been. Who knows where he might be today if Nosh hadn't picked him up. Thankful for the family of brothers he has but never really looking for more.

Emme has been on her own for a long while, doing what is necessary to live her best life, her parents be damned. She is finally to a place where she has her dream home and is working to make it just the way she wants to. She likes her work at the resturant but her passion is her iron work that she keeps secret from everyone else.

When Emme finds herself responsible for a baby and a eight year old boy her life does a tail spin. But she tackles it with everything she has. Determined to do right by her friend while trying to find out what happened, why they are coming after her and the kids now. She quickly realizes that she can't do this on her own and turns to Honon for help. What she wasn't planning on was the partner that breaks through her walls, opening her heart and for once seeing a full life of love, friendship, and family.

This book was full of suspense, adventure, letting go of past hurts and embracing love in all forms. Ms Barker grabbed my attention from the beginning and held it to the very end, even when I could hardly see the pages for the tears pooled in my eyes and running down my cheeks.

This is a series worth reading and though the books could be read as standalone, the experience is so much more with the whole family in line.
