This is a riveting story with suspense to keep you guessing while the chemistry between these enemies to lovers will have you a little flushed.

Blake is a strong woman that has been put in the position of protector way to early in her life. The guilt of missing the horrors of home life while shipped off to school, makes her feel she needs to do anything she can to protect her sister now that she is back. When her bestie is found dead things get a little crazy.  A quick trip to the country to visit her Uncle sounds like a great plan.

Hutch has admired Blake from afar for a long time. But the age difference between them was too much when they were younger. He doesn't think twice when his friend Hugh asks him to look after his nieces and keep them safe. He wasn't prepared for the possessiveness that he feels so quickly. Piper Rayne is going to pull all your emotions to the surface as you read this wonderful second chance, brother's best friend, hockey romance. Sizzling chemistry, some witty banter mixed with anger and sadness. It's a great addition to the series.

Warner and Imogen had so much more than a past connection together. A series of events and bad timing mixed with outside interferences tore these young lovers apart. They have spent the past decade trying to move forward but there are just too many unanswered questions, too many feelings that just won't go away. Now they are all back in the same area working for the same team and they are going to have to work through their differences to work together. Imogen's big brother Ford is not going to make any of it easier for them either.

When the chance to finally explain the events and the whys around them, some of the anger starts to disappear, some of the anger is shifted. Defenses are lowered just enough to spread some hope. Could they have spent a long lonely time, when things could have been explained and hurdles stepped over together? Could this be an opening for a chance once again at happiness together?

I really wasn't ready for their story to be over. I wanted more of the smiles and happiness between Warner and Imogen. But I know we will continue to see them as the series moves forward. A recommended book and series for sure.
