Release Blitz & Review - HOLDING GROUND by Piper Rayne

Holding Ground by Piper Rayne is now live!

I’ve been a single dad for five years. Then the wrong woman rented the guest cabin behind my house, and I knew right then she was going to ruin everything.

When Baylor's mother walked out, I made a promise—I'd be enough. Just the two of us. No one to disappoint her. No one else to leave.

Then Emelia Greene rolled into Echo Lake in a Mercedes and a power suit to convince the townspeople to change what makes our small town great. She’s everything this place isn't.

Emelia's not supposed to be kind. She's not supposed to be good with my daughter. She's definitely not supposed to be the one I find myself confiding in at the end of my dock every night.

She's leaving in three months. I know that.

The problem is, I can't stop wondering what it would be like if a woman like her belonged in a place like this.

In a life like mine.

4.5 Stars

The start of a new series with a tiny peek at some friends from old series. We have a beautiful small town setting where everyone knows everyone's business.

Elliott has done everything he can for the past five years to make sure Baylor has the best life possible even though he is a single parent and her mom left them for something more. Sure he knows he will eventually have to explain everything to he but not until she is ready. He is very stuck in his ways and doesn't particularly like change. So when the town is talking about bringing in a developer to help them grow the town, he wants nothing to do with it.

Emelia is very excited for this next job, a big step up for her in the company hopefully. She is excited to be going to a small town that kind of reminds her of home. Not that she has really been back since she left for school. In her own way she has always felt like she didn't really fit. Busy running from one place to the next trying to find her true home.

What first feels like enemy territory quickly turns to could be more, but she is leaving in three months. Once Elliott puts his walls down with her they find a safe friendship place, easily talking with each other. Baylor takes to Emelia very quickly and it is easy to see she is looking for the female touch.

Will this be a short lived time in Echo Lake or could this be the home she has been searching for?

Excited to see where the series will take us next.
