I’m not supposed to be here.

Death has come for me more than once, and each time it’s been a boy who’s
stood between me and my final breath.

I called him Christopher when he saved me as a child. When he came into my
life again, only months ago, I knew him as Wes. Just as he did the time
before, he disappeared the moment he made sure I was out of harm’s way; as
if I didn’t need any more saving.

This time, though, death left me with a reminder of how powerful it is. I
know it meant to strip me of my spirit again, but it failed.

Even so, I know I need Wes to survive. Our souls are woven together
somehow, our every breath in sync. I feel it, even though everyone says I
shouldn’t.

The world thinks he’s missing.
His loved ones don’t want to believe he’s dead.
Only I know just how special he is.

I’m going to find him and bring him home, where he belongs. Together,
we’ll face impossible—we’ll rewrite our ending.

And when the bad guys come calling, we will always win.

4 Emotional Stars

A Girl Like Me starts off right where A Boy Like You ends. And you absolutely must read A Boy Like You before reading this book. This book is a hard one to review without giving too much away but I will give it a try.

This book was full of self discovery for both Wes and Joss.

Watching Joss transform from the angry self destructive teen to a fierce young lady that striving to be more, striving to be the owner of her own destiny. There is no stopping this girl. She has become a true role model for others. Her recover that is very focused around not letting life's event change her destiny with her athleticism.

In the search for Wes, who is believed by many to be dead. We learn so much about the Boy who has been Joss's savior so many times. But Wes is learning many of these events himself and trying to fully understand his place. As he struggles with his accepting himself and letting his family and friends in on his secrets. It was truly a struggle and he worries about acceptance but is truly surprised by the love of family.

Full of twists and turns Ginger keeps you wondering while you read. I did find the book a little slow at the beginning but it completely finished of the duet with full expectations. The slight supernatural elements were a different addition and not normally my thing but not so much that it hindered my feeling on the story overall. Well done Ginger! I can't wait for my daughter to read this part so we can have book discussions. She was so excited when it arrived on her kindle.
