First Kiss with a Cowboy
(Silverado Lake #1)
by Sara Richardson
In this charming, sweet romance from bestselling author Sara Richardson, can a risk-taking cowboy convince a no-nonsense writer to give him a second chance?
Shy and sensible romance writer Jane Harding's carefully ordered life is crumbling around her. With her latest novel due and her teaching contract at an end, returning home to help plan her best friend's wedding is a welcome distraction. Yet when Jane discovers that the too-hot-to-handle boy who once tempted her is now the best man -- and the rodeo circuit's sexiest bull rider -- her distraction is in danger of becoming a disaster . . .
Toby Garrett is no stranger to risk. But this latest injury could end his rodeo career for good. Thankfully, his recovery at home isn't as awful as he'd imagined, especially when he comes face-to-face with Jane. The kiss they once shared still fuels his fantasies, but when she walked away, he let her go. Now Toby is determined to fix his mistakes. Can this sweet-talking cowboy prove that the passion still burning between them is worth braving the odds?

Jane Harding returns home to Silverado Lake to help her best friend plan her wedding. She has not been home in years. When she arrives at her moms ranch she does not expect to find Toby Garrett the man she had her first embarrassing kiss with in high school, now working as the handy man on the ranch. She also comes to realize that Toby is the best man in her friends wedding so she will have to work closely with him over the next few weeks. As they work together and plan ideas for the wedding they quickly realize there is still a undeniable connection between them.
Jane has been through a lot with loosing her dad she has a lot of insecurities and shuts her self off afraid of getting hurt. Toby is back home after suffering an injury on the bull riding circuit, he is passing time hoping he heals so he can get back out there. When he sees Jane again something stirs inside him and he wonders if she could give him a reason to stick around. Jane keeps pushing him away and trying to keep her distance but what she does not know is Toby has suffered a loss too and may be able to understand her pain and insecurities more than she thinks.
Will Toby be able to help Jane get over her fears and insecurities, let go of the past and look forward to the future together?
Ms Richardson's characters always seem to draw me into the story making it hard to put it down.
