This is my first read of the Escape with a Billionaire Series but this book can be read as a standalone. Holy stubborn alpha asshole with strong driven and sassy heroine to sizzle off the pages.
The cold and calculated plan of the arranged marriage with a time limit, a huge gain for both parties seemed like an easy enough challenge. The two never suspected that their stubborn strong partner would be add such dimension to that challenge. Nor did they expect the range of emotions that challenge would bring.
Both Jameson and Adeline had long since decided that love and marriage had no place in their lives. Their pasts had only shown them the hurts that could come with the vulnerability of loving someone who doesn't love you back the same. It wasn't worth the risk. But when it sneaks up on you, their isn't a choice in who or why you love someone.
Jameson works hard at his grumpy alpha persona but to those very few who get to know him well he is a swoon worthy softy when it comes to this mother and family. We get to see the soft guy as he helps Adeline deal with her family issues and stands at her back a strong protector. Adeline is not used to having that added support. With each hurdle she has to jump, Jameson sneaks a little bit further past that anger and hate she harbors.
This was a great book that had me vested from the first chapter and not wanting to put it down. I will certainly be making a trip back in time and checking out the earlier series books.
