This is my first Kait Nolan read and I love how she is able to paint a picture with her words. She transported me to Scotland to enjoy this wonderful story full of letting past regrets go, being there for a boy in need, and fighting for the life you want.
Malcolm has found a new beginning as the manager of the Highland estate. Long ago he lost everything that was near and dear to him. A stint at rock bottom and deep in the bottle he was looking for trouble. Now he finds himself clean and working hard but still keeping himself at arms length with everyone. Until Charlotte and Galvin gave him a new focus.
Charlotte has found herself in Scotland to help her psuedo son with this new estate. Charged with getting the cottages ready for rental, demoing and reconstructing, decorating. She read her Malcolm needing a friend, and though the grumpy fool was busy pushing her away. This mama bear is determined to help Galvin stay away from the horrible life he ran from.
As these two work together to be there for a young boy, they form a bond. They start to think that their might be hope and a life that they never dreamed would be possible. Could this be the next steps in their lives. Could they both finally get a full life with love and happiness.
I will be watching for more from this series and author.
