Wow, from the meet cute that started the book the to crazy chemistry that jumps off the pages. Add in the danger of the morally grey men and the suspense that is following them, or maybe Charleigh around. I was hooked early and couldn't read fast enough. And the sweet little boy who adds all the smiles and wit to a deep story content.
Charleigh has been looking over her should for so long that she doesn't really remember what it is like not too. She is determined to live her life finally and stop running. Hopefully she is finally far enough away and safe to do so. She likes this little town and the people she has met. She is loving her job. She certainly wasn't expecting the tall dark drink of a man that she can't seem to pull herself away from.
River has been teetering on the bad side of things for a long time. Sure he is a proper business owner and all that stuff. But the secret life he lives, helping those who don't have anyone else to help has darkened his spirit. He has convinced himself that he is not worthy of love and happiness as he has crossed one to many lines. Could the timid beauty be the one to make him think twice about all of that?
As we come to the end, I was floored by the final twist. I can't wait to see what happens next in this little town, with this family of choice.
