This is a standalone slow burn romantic suspense.
When Liam finds a woman nearly dead on the shore of the beach in Panama, as a doctor his only choice was to take her back to his home/clinic and treat her for her injuries. His past life keeps his from contacting the authorities and he does some of his own research trying to see where she might have come from. When she finally awakes with no memory of who she is, how she got there, he continues to care for her.
Alex wakes beaten, and recovering with no recollection of who she is. As small tidbits of flashback come to her she becomes a little more verbal and trying to interact with her savoir. She feels a draw to the man but worries it is only because he has saved her and provided her safety.
It takes a while for the storyline to start to ramp up and the suspense and action to take over. When it does it is fast paced and has many twists and turns. This part keeps the story moving along and the pages turning. You will find yourself trying to answer the who's and why's.
I struggled to connect with the characters and the story a little. I felt the first half of the book lacked something but the second have was jammed packed with action and activity. A good book, just didn't loose myself in the story.
