This is book 5 in the series and quiet reserved Adam gets his story in this one. Though this book could be read as a standalone, I do beleive you will have a better feel of dynamics if the series is read. Small town, second chances, emotional and sweet with a cute little boy to make you smile.
Tessa is starting over since leaving her abusive ex-husband. But with children the cut of the ties is only so far, still having to deal with him for custody situations. Knowing that he will use Eric to get to her any way he can.
Adam is happy to work and go through the motions, watching his siblings all finding love and happiness. Having dealt with tragic loss and his families history of an abusive grandfather, he keeps his heart close.
When he truly notices his sisters close friend Tessa, he is drawn to her. When Tessa reaches out to him, doesn't hesitate. Knowing the broken trust of an abusive relationship, he is quick to put the ball in Tessa's cort, giving her the choices as to where they go.
