Ms. Moreland has my undivided attention and me eagerly waiting for more from this series. From the very first pages I was sucked into this dangerous world of seeking out the worst of the worst and taking justice for the innocent they harm. A strange mix between dangerous, evil and heartwarming love and affection.

Evie is running for her life. After one to many beatings from her controlling boyfriend who has stripped her of all of her friends. When she finds herself in the wrong place at the wrong time, seeing something nobody ever wants to experience. Certain that she has ran herself straight to her demise, but still trying to help others in the process. She never expected the words and the options she was given. She still doesn't know if she made the correct choice.

Matteo has been hardened over the years, I mean how could he not in this line of business. A leader, the Boss and spearhead of this life he has chosen to seek revenge for those who can't. His family and staff have hoped someday he would find that one that will soften his heart and remind him how to love again. He might have met his match with this sprite of a woman who is terrified but still demanding and strong.

Will Evie be able to find the comfort in this home to relax and not feel like she is being held captive. Will the rules of the life and the dangers around them be too much for her? Will she be the one that will crack the hardened shell and show Matteo that he can love?
