Book Review - WINE COUNTRY KING by Claire Marti

Wine Country King

A cocky, charming real estate attorney.

A brilliant, gorgeous sommelier.

Neither has time for romance.

One mind-blowing kiss changes everything.

Jack Cassidy heads the team opening the next in an exclusive line of boutique hotels, this one in wine country. Working with his best friend’s sister should make it easier, tapping into her expertise about the area and its wines. The pair have been friends for years, so sharing an apartment shouldn’t pose any issues… except for the simmering heat building between them.

Campbell Taylor’s one of only a handful of women to battle the all-boys club and go for the title of master sommelier. She didn’t rise to her position by being a pushover, but living and working with her brother’s best friend – the man she’s secretly crushed on for years – might prove to be her greatest challenge. How can she get him to see her as more than Cameron’s little sister? And will their undeniable attraction derail her dreams?

4 Stars

This is book 2 of the California Suits Series but could be read as a standalone without too much trouble. A brothers best friend/ office romance.

Jack is in 100% with his buddies on this journey of creating and running these hotels. This ex military, hottie also has the smarts to help make his hotel a success. Growing up as a military brat, he is all to used to moving around and not staying in one place. He worries his friends feel he is just waiting for the next place to pull him away. He has always felt more at home with the Taylor family than his own.

Campbell is working towards her Master Sommelier while working to help the new hotels get up and running with the best chefs and wine lists. She loves the freedom of being a little bit away from her family but knowing they are close at hand. She is working alongside Jack, her brothers bestfriend that she has crushed on since he came to their place for the first time. When working together, turns into sharing a space, she is concerned about crossing the lines.

When they cross the lines they are worried about what the family will think. Will their past keep them from exploring this new adventure together or will they give things an honest try? Could there be another love story in the making?
