This is book one of a new series with a spin off from Hot In Chicago series so we get to see some old favorites too. Roman and Abby have great chemistry that smolders in the pages as you read their story.

Roman is looking for a fresh start, leaving behind his ex wife and co-worker who tarnished his fire house in New York for him. Glad to be back near his witty sister who is helping out with care for his sweet daughter. Like all changes in life there is a settle in period and they have been doing OK. Who would expect a trip to the diner for a slice of pie could be so interesting?

Abby has worked hard to follow the steps of her mother and become a firefighter. Against the wishes of her father. She has had to overcome many hurdles and pushed to strengths she didn't know she had within. Strong in her values and independent she is determined to get what she wants. Dating a firefighter is definitely not on her list as she has seen how badly that can turn out.

Sometimes attraction and chemistry, outweigh the decisions you would normally stick to. Could they cross that line and keep it from everyone? Will one time be enough to sizzle out the strong need? Or will they find themselves working through the issues of the past to finding a way to make a future?

Enjoyed Roman and Abby's story and the meeting of the characters that will bring us forward in this new series.
