Toni Anderson is one of those authors you can safely turn to for consistent high quality writing, thrilling action packed stories and compelling spicy romantic reads. HER RISK TO TAKE is no exception, even if it comes in the slightly smaller package of a novella.

Sarah lives with her siblings on a working farm, but works as an ER physician at a local hospital, while planning for a future that allows her independence closer to home. A future that, if she had here way, would also include a certain taciturn man  who had been physically within reach for a while now, but emotionally more distant than ever.

For years she has harbored a crush on her brother's good friend Cal, for whom life hadn't always been fair. He literally had to claw his way out of a dark past and had found work and refuge on the farm. His daily exposure to Sarah however, made his attraction to her deeper as much as it convinced him to steer clear of her for her safety. 

When Sarah finally breaks the invisible barrier between them, it is impossible for him to resist, no matter how hard he tries to keep a lid on the situation. But when her safety and life are on the line, there is no denying what his heart has known all along.

Forceful characters, however bruised and dented, with a strong supporting cast of familiar faces for those who have read previous books in the series. Not a necessity to enjoy HER RISK TO TAKE, but certainly recommended, if only because no book by Toni Anderson should be left unread EVER.
