ICE
(Regulators MC #1)
by Chelsea Camaron and Jessie Lane
ARC Review
Release: December 8th, 2014
My rating: 4 of 5 ⭐️
Loosely attached to Chelsea Camaron's Hellions Series and Jessie Lane's Ex Ops Series.
She's an investment banker.
He's an outlaw biker.
A little bit of heaven is about to meet a whole lot of hell.
Morgan Powell was raised to be perfect, to set an example for her sisters to follow. Her life has been dedicated to making something of her career, so she wouldn’t know what to do with a man even if you gave her an instruction manual.
Brett 'Ice' Grady spends his days trying to keep up with his teenage daughter, his nights consumed in Regulators’ MC business. He has no time for anything more than a casual hookup.
Two worlds collide when the dangers of his life crash into the calm of hers.
Can she go beyond her own boundaries and chip her way through to the man known to be as cold as ice?
*****
I was familiar with the Hellions Series by Chelsea Camaron, so this was a pretty automatic 'pick-up' for me, and the collaboration between the two authors seems to work well.
Rather innocent in the ways of the world and compliant in nature, Morgan Powell finds herself riled by the large, and unyielding Ice Grady. She finds herself caring for a younger sister who strikes up a friendship with Ice's daughter. Despite her attempts to avoid the ornery man, she finds herself in his presence more often than not. And surprisingly, she finally finds the gumption to assert herself. But why does he have to like it so much?
No time for any emotional involvements. Ice has limited himself to purely physical releases and doesn't even entertain the idea of a relationship. Not since the passing of his wife. Left to raise his daughter alone, he has a hard enough time trying to keep track of her. No need to add another female to try and figure out. But he can't seem to help being drawn to the innocent yet mouthy Morgan.
Great start to a new series, with lots of intruiging characters to explore. Love the premise of a taciturn man being softened by a good woman, so in that respect ICE was no disappointment. I also love the dual purpose of the MC, which makes sense now that I found Jessie Lane writes a covert ops series. Great combo!!
✨Hot grump, MC and covert Ops? Yes please!✨
