(Gypsy Brothers #7)
by Lili Saint Germain
Released: December 15, 2014
My heart is bleeding...... but this time it is for the ending of a journey that has captured and held me for almost a year. And let me tell you, it's not the only thing bleeding around here. Medic!!!
Holy friggin hell!!
After the heart-breaking ending of 'Two Roads", that left us stunned, scared, and seething - 'One Love' starts with a battle-weary cast of characters. Depleted of all strength, stripped of all dignity, and hanging on with the last threads of fear, vengeance and a final surge of adrenaline, a motley crew of characters is gearing up for what is sure to be a final showdown. With some unexpected support from a mutual enemy, the decision to make the ultimate sacrifice is inevitable. But no one will go down alone this time....
A story like this one, so brutal and violent in nature, does not end with the death of one, two, or even twenty core players. The disease of corruption and crime is so deep-rooted and far-spread, it stands to reason that although the beast has perhaps been wounded, it certainly has not been killed. Lili's references throughout the latter parts of Gypsy Brothers, to a cartel make it clear that there is an entire network at play of which Gypsy Brothers only formed a smaller part.
I may be that Jules' fight for restitution and revenge has come to an end, but the fight is not done. In this under-world, not much is forgotten, nothing is forgiven, and I am sure we will see some of the aftermath to come in Lili's future writings.
No riding off into the sunshine..... not without looking over their shoulder anyway. The HEA you were looking for? Hmmmmmm, I have to ask; you DID read the series, right? It's all relative.
I have read each and every book from the very first one as an advanced reading copy. I have reviewed each and every book and blogged about it. And I have rated each and every one of these Gypsy Brothers' books with 5 big fat honking stars, just as I will this one. Why? Not because Lili is a big name author..... because she wasn't back when she published the first one. No, because she pushed boundaries.... She dared to break down so many unwritten rules and walls, and really stuck her neck out - and she did it REALLY WELL! Starting in book#1, and continuing without exception.
Lady, my hat goes off to you, for having the talent AND the incredible steel set of balls to do what you have done.
✨Something to look forward to??✨
