"Farrah Miller and Cody “Casper” Butler have a longstanding relationship that both refuse to discuss.

It isn’t romantic.

It may not even be classified as a friendship.

Casper’s been saving Farrah from herself for longer than he’d care to admit, watching silently as she drowned herself in alcohol. Then, when she finally got her act together, he left. He told himself he was giving her time to sort herself out. He tried to give her space.

But getting shot in the chest can change a man’s perspective, and Casper’s done waiting.

When he shows up on her doorstep one night, everything changes.

He’s the man who’s seen her at her very worst.

She’s his weakness.

He runs when things get hard.

She never lets anyone see below the surface and is terrified of being abandoned.

He knows it’s a long shot, that there’s a good chance she’ll never drop her guard for him—but he has to try. Because a life with Farrah is exactly what he wants—even if he has to fight her for it."

*****

Awesome third novel in The Aces series by Nicole Jacquelyn!! High on dark angst and troubled love, CRAVING ABSOLUTION is the story of a trust that is hard to give but even more difficult to earn.

Farrah grew up under the greatest of misconceptions. Something that would affect her decisions and her life for years. And even after she had found a haven with her best friend, Callie's family  and was taken in by Gram as one of her own, the scars left behind were deep and festering. Her adversity to the Aces MC of which Callie's brother and man were members had been spoon fed to her growing up, and she would have nothing to do with them. But she couldn't resist Cody, never had been able to, and when he finally decides to force down her walls, there is no way she is able to stack them up high enough again to keep him out.

Cody, or Casper as his MC brothers call him, had found a home and a new family with the Aces. Now that his brother Grease had finally laid claim on his sister Callie, he had settled in to the lifestyle, abandoning his former life without regret. It also brought him closer to Farrah, for whom he had cared from a distance for a long time. Hadn't just cared about, but taken care of as well. During her most difficult times, he had always been there to catch her and make sure she was safe. Seeing her straightened out and living a healthy life, encouraged him to finally make a move. And once he went in, he wasn't going to be pushed out again. But he hadn't considered all the bagage they carried between them.

The relationship between Farrah and Casper is at turns explosive and sweet. Sometimes within mere minutes. It is the many triggers each of them carry with them of past mistakes, present troubles and future expectations. And I haven't even started on the impact of their environment, which is of huge influence. Both are still young and yet have seen too much in their life time already.

Casper's loyalties seem to be divided, or at least tested, and Farrah is in a constant state of confusion, not knowing who or what to believe. Trust is the priciest of commodities, easily broken, hard to regain and can only be given completely.

Fantastic writing by Nicole Jacquelyn, with insightful dramatic family dynamics, clever little plot twists, heart-breaking discoveries and mind-blowing sex scenes!

✨A scorching, powerful and gritty novel of redemption.✨
