Cooper Krenshaw knows what it’s like to feel the bright lights upon him, the sound of the crowd roaring when he walks on stage; after all, he happens to be one of the biggest names in country music at the moment. And he has knowingly just dropped off the grid. The first decision he has made on his own in quite some time. Cooper only thought he was looking for a challenge when he walked off of that concert stage in Chicago. After finding himself in Devil’s Bend, Texas, he soon realizes that the dream he’s been chasing might not be the one he was after all along.
Now he’s found himself not only starting over in a new town, but he’s pretty sure he’s met the toughest challenge of his life... she just happens to be an angel in blue jeans.
Tessa Donovan hasn’t been the best of friends with Fate for quite some time now. Owning and operating The Rusty Nail, a small bar in her hometown of Devil’s Bend, has been enough to keep her going through the motions of her life. But it’s the only thing she’s got. After losing her husband fifteen short months after they were married, Tessa has spent the last four years chasing dreams in order to maintain her sanity. Only those dreams are soon ripped right out of her grasp by a sexy country music star who claims he descended on her small town by accident.
Coincidence? Or has Fate stepped in once again? Whatever the case, Tessa knows the handsome cowboy might get to overtake her dreams, but she’s bound and determined that he won’t take her heart.

The die-hard Nicole Edwards fans who live by the kink might be a bit taken aback. CHASING DREAMS is laid back in comparison to what we have seen recently from Ms. Edwards creative brain. BUT..... I LOVE IT!!! It is no less sexy than what she wrote before, but it has a much more mellow feel to it and a fully fleshed out atmosphere that makes for a place that is easy for anyone to feel at home at. This is more of a 'slice of life' book, than I personally have read from her before, and it really appeals to me!!
The sex in this story is fairly straight, male/female, but the level intensity and intimacy is high, so the book gets a really good scorch on!! But there is also a sweetness to it that fits this context better.
I absolutely adored both characters.
Tessa, although beaten down a fair bit, may have been afraid to depend on anyone else, but she sure wasn't afraid to depend on herself. She was pragmatic enough to work hard with the pitiful little her father left her with, but still enough of a dreamer to put money aside month after month to build on a future, she knew she had no real chance of ever realizing. That didn't stop her though...... she just kept ploughing along, helping others, but never allowing help.
From the opposite direction comes Cooper, who has followed his dream all along and has seen nothing but success and had all kinds of support along the way. He has lost the meaning of it all, the magic and the passion of his music. Controlled and managed by deadlines and media, he craves simplicity and real connections and hopes to find meaning in his new dream he has come to build in Devil's Bend.
The irony of course, is that two people are chasing the same dream from opposite ends of the spectrum. One from a position of privilege, while for the other the dream would always have been just that.......a dream.
This book read like a warm, blanket in front of an open fire...........sitting naked on a bearskin rug!!
Warm and fuzzy, yet sinfully sexy!!!
Kudos Nicole Edwards!!! I want more of these!!! ❤️❤️❤️
✨A spicy, compelling, country stunner!✨
