Having to keep her romantic involvement with Slade a secret for so long, had been a sacrifice Taylor was glad to make. She didn't want anything to stand in the way of the full custody Slade was hoping to get of his two boys. Not that there was anything she had to hide, she had her own place and her job waitressing at the Bantorus MC's favorite hangout, but you couldn't be too careful. So when Slade returned from court with the news written all over his face, her heart broke.

He knew he wasn't the ideal father material, being Vice President of the Bantorus MC, but Slade had always provided a safe and loving home for his boys. Not something that his vindictive and flighty ex and her sleezy husband could or would do. It ripped him apart having to hand over the boys, but he was not going to give up on them. Whatever it would take, he would bring them home. He just doesn't think he can ask Taylor to tie herself to someone like him. Someone who will deal with the devil himself so his boys could be with him again.

With more conviction than Slade feels at the moment, Taylor is not prepared to let him walk away from her. And with a rivaling gang with close ties to the Mexican Mafia about to encroach on their territory, Slade realizes he needs his loved ones home..... All of them. With their relationship now out in the open and Taylor afforded the official status of 'old lady', the MC are making plans to ensure that not only his sons, but also the town of Pitnam are safe.

What Slade doesn't know, is that Taylor has been doing her own planning to give Slade his boys back, but what she doesn't realize is that it puts her right in the path of danger.

Debra's best yet!!!

I really got a kick out of the already existing relationship that we see moving to a different level. It is yet another unique look at romance, when so often we see just the initial 'bliss', the honeymoon phase. Here we are introduced to a couple who have, albeit in secret, in a committed relationship for a while. Sure, they haven't made anything 'official' yet, neither to each other or the world at large, but the implications sure are there.

It then shows us the struggle of bursting that intimate one on one bubble, into something more public and normalized, amid all this circumstantial chaos around them, which of course, makes the transition all the more difficult. That becomes obvious when certain insecurities around their feelings and commitments to each other start resurfacing again after they have already voice their feelings for each other. Their circumstances have been so extreme and stressful, that they need the other's reassurance that they are still the same to the other, and they find new and clearer ways of showing and descriving that.

Of course, there is action aplenty!!! This is a biker book!! We have feuding MC's who are forced to ride side by side to ward off an invading club with dangerous Mafia connections, neither of the MC's want in their territory.

We also have action of an entirely different nature, not necessarily less 'forceful', but most definitely more loving. The sex, my lovelies, is scalding hot. Not that that should surprise you, Ms. Kayn does a very good descriptive job. I learn so much from these books, I wonder where all these authors do their research, or whether this knowledge just comes naturally....... *smirk*

I stayed up with this book, have the author to thank for the multiple cups of coffee that are now keeping me sufficiently coherent (I hope!) to finish this review! Just couldn't put it down. The perfect combination of HARD and soft.

A kick-ass, red-hot and savvy novel of family, love and brotherhood
