My rating: 4 of 5 ⭐️
After a rather tumultuous start to their relationship, Alli and Damien no longer have any doubts about each other. Officially a couple now, they hope that the new life they are starting together will be a a bit smoother sailing. But no sooner have they returned from their romantic time away, or harsh reality sets in once again.
Threatening emails in Alli's inbox are the first in a series of disturbing messages and events that have Damien's protective instincts go in overdrive. They are covered by security everywhere they go. Having already lost his sister, Damien is not about to lose someone else to this man who seems to have become obsessed with Alli.
But that is not the only thing the couple has to contend with. Damien's parents continue to snub Alli and try to drive a wedge between the couple. The stress of living under the constant threat of an obsessed stalker, the negative pressure of the parents and the constant scrutiy of security may well prove to be too much on this relationship.....
*****
Once again, a very mellow and sweet start building up to a strong crescendo!
Funny how both the first book TRUST ME and this one start off almost too romantic....too good to be true, to the point where I have had to almost force myself to continue knowing Ms. Mayer would pull the plug soon! And she did. Rainbows, unicorns and rosy coloured glasses all disappeared as reality came crashing back down, popping the blissful bubble around Alli and Damien. And meanie that I am.....I rubbed my hands in glee. NOW it was getting good!!
After getting a taste early on in the book of Damien's 'softer' side, at the first sign of threat to his beloved Alli, the dark and dangerous Alpha protector springs up once again. And although somewhat tempered by Alli's loving ministrations, he still can't help himself but bark orders and make decisions, all but foaming at the mouth at the idea of someone wanting close to HIS woman.
Alli, in the meantime, has all but given up asserting herself against Damien. Terrified of the invisible and anonymous threat to her, she has very little choice but to give in to her man's ability to control his and her safety. More secure in his love and understanding of his background, she is able to provide him with the assurances and support he needs.
Of course there are copious amounts of hot and steamy sexual encounters.... the two still not able to keep their hands off each other and 'anywhere goes' seems to apply. Get the icecube tray ready!
This all but concluded the story for Alli and Damien, but we are not done.....there are some loose ends and we have another book coming. Certain nefarious characters have been lurking around that have not been addressed yet, and Sam, Alli's best friend, is a character that bears closer inspection as well. She has been a prominent presence in both TRUST ME and LOVE ME.
I will certainly be signing up for the next book in this series. Both of them have done a 'push and pull' with me and that alone intrigues me. I enjoy Kristin Mayer's writing style tremendously and will absolutely keep my eyes peeled!
✨From luscious bliss to bitter betrayal, it's all here....✨

Limo:
“Let’s get you dressed, so I can get you into the house. I’m going to need you naked and underneath me until dawn.”The seductive purr in his voice makes my sex involuntarily clench down on him while he’s still inside me.He growls at me, “Alli…”I bite down on my lip, and he swiftly pulls out of me, leaving me bereft.I whimper, “Damien, please. It’s been so long.” I start to deploy my ultimate weapon as I move my hand down my stomach. He stops my hand right at my navel. “Alli, it’s fifteen feet to the door. Get your sweet little ass dressed, and then I’ll satisfy you as soon as we walk through those doors. Do you really want to be in the driveway, rocking the car, while all the security guards are watching?”He doesn’t have to tell me twice. The thought has the heat creeping in my cheeks, and I scramble up and start throwing on my clothes as quickly as possible. I decide to throw my panties at him and put my pants on sans undergarments. He immediately tucks them into his pocket, and the lust look starts to take over his features.Oh geez, I might have just started a game that I know I won’t win.
Kristin Mayer is a wife, a proud mother, and a full-time Analyst and Import Manager. Since an early age, she has always enjoyed reading and writing. While visiting her father one weekend, he suggested that she should take up writing again. With family and a career, she didn’t give it a lot of thought, until a story entered her mind and wouldn’t leave. It just kept forming and developing over a couple of months.
At the beginning of 2013, she decided to sit down and write it all down, but she kept it to herself. One sentence developed into two, and before she knew it, she had the makings of a novel.
Kristin tries to live life to the fullest during every moment. She loves to travel and meet new people. She holds a degree in International Business and uses it daily in her job. Kristin now adds “author” on her list of jobs, and feels very blessed and thankful.
