FIVE MILES by Lili St. Germain

FIVE MILES
(Gypsy Brothers #3)
by Lili St. Germain
ARC Review
Release: March 31, 2014

My rating: 5 of 5 ⭐️

Two down, but this time Sammi came close to packing it in herself. With questions who might be targeting the Gypsy Brothers running rampant, Sammi needs to be careful to avoid the close scrutiny. But no one except Jase seems to give her a second glance. He has become more and more suspicious of everything she does and no longer provides the safe haven she though she had in the club.

Sammi is feeling her time running out, her energy running low, her resistance waning. But her determination to see it through is firm. Perhaps it is time to speed up the process.....

*****

Damn, this is good and so incredibly addictive!!!

As raw, harsh and cruel as the previous two instalments, FIVE MILES shows a distinct shift in urgency. As calculated as Sammi was in the previous two books, in this one her mental wear and tear is starting to show.

The hard veneer that it has taken her years to build up -  with anger, pain, blood-lust and the need for vengeance - is starting to crack with the weight of her own daily endurance and suffering, at the hands of Dornan Ross.

It doesn't help that her one light in all of the darkness that surrounds her, Jace, seems to have turned on her. He is questioning her motivations for sticking around, probing and antagonizing her and it is starting to wear on her emotionally.

The conclusion of this episode is explosive, and somewhat liberating.......but with it comes a sense of foreboding, for what conflicts it may cause for the future. We'll have to wait and see......
May isn't that far away!!

A brilliant bit of writing by Lili St. Germain who, with every novella in this series she produces, seems to gather confidence and strength in her style. As it is now, I would not be able to suggest one thing to improve upon!! Superb!!

✨A gritty, passionate and tortured drive for vengeance.✨
