Back in the small town of Alden after leaving to follow her dreams seven years ago, Kyra Brims never thought after hitting her success, things could break down on her so fast. Granted, there were some things she wouldn't change back for the world, but most of the time away culminated into one big mistake. An ex who never should have been anything to begin with, who made sure to ruin her career and her livelihood, but left her with one thing she made sure he would never be able to put his hands on again. But her heart, she had left that behind in Alden all those years ago.
Solidly rooted in Alden, Mike Haddican, has everything he needs here. His family and friends, his gym and martial arts students and a decent life - even if the girl of his dreams had left taking them with her seven years ago. He had tried eliminating her from his mind for a while, through too much booze and women, but it was no use. But when he found out she was back in town, he made damn sure to stay as far from her as possible, not willing to subject himself to that kind of torture.
But of course, the fates have a different plan - or should I say Mike's grandma and her motley crue of seniors? With the collective wisdom of centuries and the stubborn conviction that everyone should benefit from it, the group of grey-haired grannies does its best to 'coordinate' what is deemed to be inevitable; the reunion of two lost hearts.
There is no denying when Kyra and Mike set eyes on each other that time has not dulled the passion between them, but old anger and hurt get in the way. It takes a tentative spark of hope to flare up their feelings. But even once old misconceptions are cleared away, some insecurities are not that easy to dismiss.

OMG. So. Flippin. HOT!!!
The story has it all..... deep soul-deep emotion, heart-wrenching painful struggles, oodles of goodnatured humor, delightful awwww-moments with precocious pixies and hot, growling, panty-dropping, air-gasping delicious sex. Yup. It's a good one by Elle Aycart!
I'm so smart for having picked up her books way back when.....I knew then, that every book by her hand, would be MINE..... There is something about her writing that is just so wholesome and yet wonderfully earthy (read; dirty, but earthy sounded friendlier). Her stories would be phenomenal even without the incredible added dimension of the emotion filled and raw, carnal sexuality, but to have it all, makes the books so rich and colourful and delicious. It's like eating the most amazing and fragrant apple pie, and discovering little nuggets of the darkest, richest chocolate dotted throughout, enhancing and deepening the flavour exponentially.... Yeah, like that.
Her characters are human and fallible - thank goodness, I'm really tired of perfection, since I myself am so far from..- and therefore quite easy to relate to. It takes a little time to get to understand Kyra's motivations, but as she opens up to Mike, we finally get to see a lot of the layers that put her past decisions into a whole new light. And obviously it does the same for Mike, because it makes him consider his own position and views. Both come to some stunning conclusions that really beg one to wonder if, even when the right person is in front of you, you are ready for them.
Love, love, love....... and if you are not afraid of a warm small town feel, a meddling group of grannies and some scorching erotica to share the same pages..... you MUST read this book! I highly recommend it!
✨Whoa.....heat, humor & heart....united in raising bloodpressure!✨
