No one expects to come home after a nice dinner out, topped with a nice goodbye kiss at the door from nice, attractive, available FBI agent, Tony Bartoli.......to find the ghost of a dead man lounging on your couch, watching TV.
Dr. Charlotte Stone does........the renowned psychiatrist who specializes in the workings of the mind of the serial killer, also sees dead people.....and this dead person on her couch is no stranger. It is Michael Garland, recently deceased serial killer............or is he???
To top off what should have been a pleasant evening, a young woman covered in blood bangs on the door and claims to be followed by a man who is after her and has killed two other girls.
"The Gingerbread Man" has left his calling card, and this time he has left it for Charlie. With Tony Bartoli and his FBI unit and a reluctant spectral Michael Garland, who is determined to look out for Charlie, Charlotte joins the search for this notorious serial killer, before he finds his next victims.
Great book!!! Exciting from the first page on.......right to the last one.
I was torn for Charlie on a personal level.....in so many obvious ways, Tony is the sensible way to turn. Stable, legal, kind, attractive and did I mention alive??? On the other hand there is Michael who, aside from the fact that he is dead, may or may not be a serial murderer, has a definite dark side to him, BUT he is beautiful, protective, sexy and seems to do it for Charlie......Yup, quite the dilemma.
It sure makes me want to read the next book, to find out what happens with Michael, Tony and of course, Charlotte.
As always.......Karen Robards delivers high quality in THE LAST KISS GOODBYE!!!
